• 12inch Gatefold 2LP Cover Art

Oakland based record label Sentient Ruin Laboratories will release “Ecstasy With The Nonexistents”, a 2LP live recording album from French adventurers CHAOS ECHŒS.
This will be the final vinyl edition of the now defunct entity.
Originally released as part of the “Remains” 2CD, this is a testimony of the band’s most organic and vital expression, recorded by Cyrille Gachet (YEAR OF NO LIGHT, FANGE, BAGARRE GÉNÉRALE) during its second to last concert. The quintet delivers here a mix of well-crafted rearranged tracks, spanning the whole discography, with a notable middle part offering an otherwordly ritual especially created for the live set.

Above is the cover art of this vinyl release. A drawing from 2018 or early 2019, but first and foremost a long time idea.
Maybe first thought by the time we were working on “Transient” 's preproduction, it is a tribute heavily influenced by specific and mystic works from masters Gustav Klimt and Auguste Rodin.
While brainstorming the visual aspect of things, I felt it was the right time to work on it to illustrate the vibe of this moment.

• Art created and used as a matrix for the album’s visual identity

CONVULSIF is a very singular Swiss entity playing an instrumental delirium made from doom, noise and drone with an electric bass, a bass clarinet, a violin, and drums. The band is set to release its new album “Extinct” on October 23, 2020 through Hummus Records, and I had the pleasure and privilege to be in charge of the visual identity.

This time, the idea was to create an abstract drawing, ink on paper then digitalized and colorized via Adobe Photoshop, to use it as a matrix in order to propose through cropping and close-ups a unique cover art for each physical format. Thus everything is wrapped by the same aesthetics and at the same time each element keeps a dose of singularity.
Each layout is also slightly different, playing with other parts of the drawing mixed with simple yet elaborated lettering and typography

Today start pre-orders for PLAGUE ORGAN’s debut release “Orphan”. I can only warmly advise all of you to have a listen to this new project’s music. Created by members of such great entities as DEAD NEANDERTHALS, CRYPTAE or IMPERIAL CULT, here is what Sentient Ruin Laboratories says about PLAGUE ORGAN: “ With influences ranging from deviant free-form jazz, drone and dark ambient, to ritualistic black and death metal all the way to the most erratic strains of kraut and improvised psychedelia, abhorrent avant-garde/ambient black/death metal deformity PLAGUE ORGAN debut with their first ever offering, "Orphan", a spiraling and malformed mantra of deviated experimentalism and inverted incantations designed to bore into the listener's mind and ravage it of its sanity. On the single forty-minute track, the deranged Dutch duo (who feature members from death metal deliriants CRYPTAE, IMPERIAL CULT, DEAD NEANDERTHALS and more) unravel a single nauseating and diseased spell of guitar-less aural claustrophobia made of hallucinating synth patterns, obsessive percussions, psychotic bass-lines, blood-curdling grunts and spectral lamentations that combined unison weave a suffocating and disorienting fractal of self-replicating passages, making the listener feel asphyxiated in a dimensionless maze with no discernible exit. By all means a triumph in fringe sonic experimentalism and among the most accomplished and unclassifiable avant-garde extreme metal anomalies of the year, "Orphan" is a must for all fans of other deranged experimentalists like RIDE FOR REVENGE, 夢遊病者, CHAOS ECHŒS, ANTEDILUVIAN, OKSENNUS, SECT PIG and beyond. ”
I had a great pleasure working on this artwork, experimenting a more decorative and colorful style. I really hope to be able to do that kind of work for other bands in a near future.
This is a cassette release only, so please help the band by ordering it massively and quickly (only 100 units pressed), thus the record label will have no excuse for not doing the vinyl edition this project deserves!

Italian bass-driven prehistoric metal of death entity THECODONTION is about to release its debut album “Supercontinent” on June 26 via Repose Records for the vinyl edition and I, Voidhanger Records for the CD edition, and for which I had the special privilege to work on its visual identity. I enjoyed using some of the typical graphic elements of map design, and went to an unusual and very colorful territory for this one.
