WITH THE VISION AND HELP OF KEITH FROM UTECH RECORDS, STEFAN THANNEUR, BASSIST AND VOCALIST FOR FRENCH AVANT-GARDE METAL TRIO CHAOS ECHŒS, HAS TEAMED UP WITH VOÏVOD DRUMMER AND VISUAL ARTIST MICHEL LANGEVIN DURING THE YEAR 2017 TO FORM THE ART+MUSIC COLLABORATIVE PROJECT OCRE.

OCRE • 2018

The two tracks showcase a unique collaboration that combines the strengths of each member’s previous work – the throbbing primitivism of Thanneur’s work in CHAOS ECHŒS, with the interstellar coldness of Langevin’s drumming in VOÏVOD –, to create something entirely new.
Ocre Rouge is a pummeling work with massively distorted bass and waves of noise laid over a relentlessly pounding beat, while Ocre Jaune is an ominous, atmospheric piece, with effects that ring like ghosts flitting between the bass strings as surprisingly jazzy drums echo from the next room.
