Released in October 2024 by Souffle Continu Records, BYARD LANCASTER – THE COMPLETE PALM RECORDINGS 1973-1974, is the definitive deluxe package of Philadelphia born jazz wizard Byard Lancaster including his 4 legendary albums released on Jef Gilson’s Palm Records in the 1970s: US (with extra 7inch EP), MOTHER AFRICA, EXACTEMENT (2LP) and FUNNY FUNKY RIB CRIB, along with the first ever standalone edition of LOVE ALWAYS, plus a 20-page booklet with rare photos and in-depth article about Byard Lancaster’s Parisian years by Pierre Crépon.

As part of the Palm Redux Series, this project retains its aesthetic codes, while bringing its singularity to certain format such as the 20-page booklet or the exclusive obi strips. Here is a detailed selection of the graphic and iconographic work (based on Jean-Jacques Pussiau’s beautiful photographic work).
